Each one of these we have selected because they supported our community or have been there for us at a time in need such as the Pulse tragedy. We start out with a legend of the LGBT community and work our way to anthems and a faster dance beat. We think any of these would be a great fit for a gay festival such as Dallas Pride 2023 or a club or circuit appearance. Years & Years UPDATE
“The good news is that the LGBT-group will be in Dallas at Canton Hall on October 19th.” – Let’s update this article as our favorite Brit actor and singer will be coming to Dallas thanks to AT&T. Olly Alexander will be the headliner for AT&T’s Turn Up The Love Tour will take part in the second annual tour that includes a stop in Big D on June 23, 2023 at 6pm. The lineup for the event, being held in the AT&T Discovery District downtown, also includes indie queer artists Kelechi and Wrabe.
Melissa Etheridge
We take a look at who we would love to see perform for Pride related events such as Melissa Etheridge who poured her heartbreak into a new song, “Pulse,” in the wake of the Orlando shooting.
Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa currently has a new song out called “Physical” and has been topping the charts with some of the biggest songs including “One Kiss” with DJ Calvin Harris. Dua has appeared at many gay bars in the past and is a great friend to the LGBTQ community.
Eli Lieb & Brandon Skeie
The singers, along with writers Hillary Bernstein and Mimoza Blinsson, came together to pen “Pulse” following the June 12 tragedy in Orlando. The video for the moving song features people around Los Angeles placing their hands over their hearts in solidarity with the victims.
Troye Sivan
Troye is a Gay South African-born Australian singer, songwriter, actor, and YouTube star. His first major-label album, entitled TRXYE, peaked at number 5 on the U.S. Billboard 200. The lead single from the EP, “Happy Little Pill”, reached number 10 on the Australian charts. On 4 September 2015, Sivan released his second major-label album, Wild. His debut studio album, Blue Neighbourhood, was released 4 December. It’s first single, Youth, become Sivan’s first single to chart the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at twenty-three. Time magazine named Sivan as one of the “25 Most Influential Teens of 2014. While he is not coming for any big Dallas gay events this year he is coming to the South Side Ballroom on Wednesday, October 26. Perhaps he will join us for the Halloween block party?
Deborah Cox
Cox provided vocals for the 2015 Whitney Houston biopic, Whitney, directed by Angela Basset. Beginning in the fall of 2016, Cox will be starring as Rachel Marron in the North American Tour of the musical The Bodyguard premiering at Paper Mill Playhouse and playing in cities across North America. You may also recognize her for her Duet with Whitney and her #1 songs on the Billboard Dance charts. When you think about gay anthems you think Inaya Day, Martha Walsh, Amber, and Deborah Cox. Deborah Cox is no stranger to Big D as she’s performed at the Purple Party with one of their most entertaining events in the past and at Station 4.
Erika Jayne
Most of you probably know her from being a Real Housewife. She has also had some dance songs out you may or may not have recognized at the clubs and had some airplay. She has performed here in Dallas at Club One before it closed, Oklahoma City Pride in 2015, The White Party in Palm Springs, and she is scheduled to perform at this year’s Gay Pride Festival in the Park.
Kim Petras
A rising star that recently toured with Troye Sivan is not holding back for her support of LGBT. The 26-year-old “Heart to Break” singer has raked in millions of Spotify plays on her songs, along with garnering the undivided attention of a predominantly LGBTQ fan base.
Part of the reason she has gained so much attention from the community is due to her transgender identity. Petras underwent gender confirmation surgery at the age of 16, making her one of the youngest people to undergo the process.
Lily Allen
Not sure why we have not seen Lily Allen at too many pride events but this is one lyrical talent we would love to see on stage standing up for our equality. She came out with the four letter word song with a “you” behind it telling the far-right jerks what they can do with themselves. Is this not one of the best pride themes ever? Here is a taste of her lyrics to the FU song: “So you say

These artists have a catalog of songs to help us identify with problems we go through as gays.
Bebe Rexha
Bebe had the Summer theme song and hit “No Broken Hearts” she also performed at LA Pride 2016 in West Hollywood.
Jessica Sutta
You know her from the Pussy Cat Dolls and now she’s gone solo. She did an amazing performance at Station 4 a few months ago. Here she is at San Jose, CA Pride singing “Show Me”. She will be at the Red Party this weekend for Pride.
Adam Lambert
Currently on tour with Queen the former American Idol runner-up has sold over 3 million albums and 5 million singles worldwide. He’s done Miami pride and a few others! He was spotted in Dallas a few years ago at BJ’s NXs posing and talking to several dancers and fans. We hope he comes back to Dallas soon!
LeAnn Rimes
She’s been a big supporter of gay issues for a very long time, having done an It Gets Better video, a photo shoot for the NOH8 Campaign, and performing at G-A-Y in London and the Parliament House in Orlando. LeAnn Rimes who is known for her rich vocals rose to stardom at age 13 following the release of the Bill Mack song “Blue”, becoming the youngest country music star since Tanya Tucker in 1972. She also has released a Dance album with great mixes of her fan favorites such as the ones on the Coyote Blue album. Below is a perfomrance for The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles:
Steve Grand
This is an artist who utilized the internet to build a brand for himself and, as a result, landed a place on Out magazine’s “Out100” list of prominent LGBT people and a spot on the cover of Instinct magazine as one of the publication’s “Leading Men”. He’s appeared on Good Morning America, CNN and countless other national media outlets, posed for glossy photo spreads, landed partnerships with the Human Rights Campaign, GLSEN and other LGBT rights organizations. Plus, maybe he takes his shirt off?
DJ Dave Aude
Dave Audé is a Grammy-winning producer, house DJ, and remixer. He operates his own label Audacious Records, and is known for having more #1s than any other producer on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. You may have seen him play last year at the fabulous It’ll Do Club with Crystal Waters performing here in Dallas or in San Diego for their Pride or just about anywhere they have a love for amazing remixes! DJ Offer Nissim
Nissim has ranked 4 times on DJ Magazine’s annual list of Top 100 DJs. Nissim played NYC and San Francisco prides back in June 2016. He is also featured at some of the world’s top circuit events and has remixed songs that will bring anyone out on the dance floor. Nissim is probably too expensive at 20k a gig or so but it’s worth the dream. Check out his pride remix for 2016:
