UPDATE: Dallas Pride has been moved to July 25th-26th, 2020.
It’s happening folks. The Dallas Pride Parade and Festival originally moved to the first weekend of June in 2019, and both events will be held at Fair Park again in June 2020. Dallas Pride and Dallas Tavern Guild Executive Director Jarron Turnbow confirmed in a press conference.
The Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade will be held Sunday, June 7 at 2 PM at Fair Park, TX in Dallas.
The Miller Light Music Festival in Fair Park, including the Family Pride Zone and Teen Pride, will be held Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the Esplanade and the Centennial Building at Fair Park.

We do not yet know if the other charitable dance events (not associated with the guild) will move “Pride” parties to June. We are told there is a possibility some will remain in September. It will be interesting to see if other events will follow suit of the tavern guild or if this is the end of Dallas pride as we know it.
If they fail to book big enough talent to draw people over to the State Fair many are doubting that Dallas Pride could survive this change. The biggest gay event in the world going on this same weekend will be held in Orlando and they are marketing heavily towards the Pride crowd. World Pride Month is also going on in New York City for the 51th anniversary of Stonewall with events each day in June.
We hope the Oaklawn bar scene does not suffer too bad from this loss of revenue in September. The Round Up Saloon had a few things to say about the move:
