Katy Perry was in Dallas for her Witness Tour and stopped by for a night out at the gay club called Station 4 to watch Drag Queens perform inside the Rose Room. In case you missed it a mega-star was at Station 4’s Rose Room the night before her Witness Tour stop in Dallas. Probably the biggest star to walk inside the Rose Room since Lady Gaga was here a few years ago. Katy Perry was seen filming the drag show which included Cassie Nova and Krystal Summers then went backstage to hang out with the queens.
It was an exciting night at the Rose Room as you can see in the photos below. There is also a video to see some of the highlights of the big weekend out in Dallas.
“Dallas, what the heck is y’all’s problem? We’re going to have a real come-to-Jesus … about all the bicycles that have been left on the freeway.”
While the green and yellow bikes have been scattered around town and an unorganized nightmare for some it might be what stuck out more than anything else. We didn’t hear her comment on the Rose Room at the concert she was too busy speaking of the bicycles all over and she didn’t just say it once. She spoke about it at least three times during her Witness Tour show. See more in the video above.
“Dallas, what in the heck is y’all’s problem?” she asked. “We’re going to have a real come-to-Jesus … about all the bicycles that have been left on the freeway,” she said, referencing the onslaught of bike-share bicycles abandoned in strange places, which got a huge laugh from the crowd. “I played a drinking game yesterday with water. And I almost died from drinking too much water every time I saw a deserted bicycle.”
Dallas Purple Party weekend is the biggest gay circuit party event in Texas attracting thousands of guys from around the world for a nonstop weekend of dancing fun. This year consists of five big parties including the legendary pool party and a highly spiritual Historic Hall of State at Fair Park. Purple Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise funds to improve the lives of people in the Dallas area who are living with or are affected by HIV/AIDS. So you are basically helping great organizations out while having an amazing sound and light experience with some of the world’s masters of dancefloor beats.
The Purple Party sent out emails this week saying they are experiencing record-breaking sales for this year’s events. It is possible that weekend passes and one (or more) individual parties will sell out this year so they are encouraging party goers to purchase soon. This year’s events are 18 and up including the main event with an exception of the pool party and the bear party.
Events include Friday’s Ignite the opening party, Saturday’s Rise, the pool party and the The Purple Party aka the Main Event. The events seem earlier than last year and they are a week before normal but that does not mean it’s too chilly for a wild pool party in Texas. Dallas Purple Party takes over the Sisu resort with bottle service, hot gogo’s, and energizing beats in the warm sun. For the Main Event DJ Paulo is one of three mega-DJ’s to bring us into the early morning sweating to some beats at the South Side Music Hall. On Sunday its Resurrection
the after hour’s party and then Glow, the closing party. While the parties are held at different venues around the city of Dallas there will be shuttles to and from the events from the Warwick Melrose host hotel off Oaklawn and Cedar Springs.
We made a few tweets not too long ago about how Austin was bringing in all the good queens such as Bianca. Austin Pride is also bringing in DJ Hector Fonseca and we wondered why Dallas Pride could not book any of these top notch acts. Well Station 4 has stepped up to the plate and taking the DFW Challenge. Bianca Del Rio is coming to Station 4 on November 2nd and we are so excited. I imagine she will be performing in the downstairs because I am not sure if the Rose Room can handle a celebrity like this… I mean who else gets to lay in bed with Joan Rivers and win Ru Paul’s Drag Race! More details to come on this exciting event.
